Log

ver 0.2 rev 2026-07-31 status draft

Not the log itself — that lives where logs live. This is what the log says when you stand back from it.

Every figure on this page comes out of scripts/import-log.mjs, which reads an ADIF export and writes the aggregates the page renders. Nothing here is typed by hand, so nothing here can quietly stop matching the log.It also refuses to run on a PSKReporter export. Those files look like logs and are not: every record carries SWL=1 and QSO_COMPLETE=NIL, because they are reports of signals heard, not contacts made. Thirty thousand of them would have made a very impressive and completely false page.

Worked

2852 contacts with 2116 stations in 136 DXCC entities, between 2021-03-01 and 2023-04-01. contacts per month is every month of it, and the flat stretch in the middle is not missing data.

Confirmed

1283 of those are confirmed through Logbook of the World — 972 stations, 110 entities.

That figure is smaller than it should be, and the reason is worth stating rather than hiding: the LoTW report it comes from was generated on 2021-09-19 and only covers up to that date. It is not a confirmation rate. Worked and confirmed are different claims, and a page that blurs them is doing the thing this site is otherwise complaining about.

By band

Same shape repeated across every band, all nine panels on one shared scale, so the comparison is what you read rather than nine charts you have to reconcile.

Contacts per month, by band. One scale across every panel — a tall month on 40 m is taller than a tall month on 12 m, and the panels say so. The figure at the right of each is the band total.

40 m carries more than a third of everything. That is partly propagation and mostly the antennas — the end-fed is the one that has been up longest and works best where it works at all.

All digital, which is the honest version of what the station page says. No CW in here at all yet — that is the point of learning it.

The gap

The log stops on 2023-04-01. It is now 2026.

I would rather show a log with a hole in it than a page that implies I have been on the air continuously. The zero months are real. Some of them are weather, some are the antennas being down, and some of them are just not going out to the shack.

The arc

First contact: 2021-03-01.

The letter at the top of the station page was written in June 1982. That is thirty-nine years between wanting a radio and working the first station with one.
